1. Decision-support platform
GeoLayers is a geospatial software and information platform. Unless GeoLayers separately signs a professional-services agreement that says otherwise, use of the software does not create a professional adviser-client relationship and platform outputs are not professional certification or statutory approval.
2. Spatial data limitations
Spatial data can be incomplete, generalized, outdated, misprojected, incorrectly attributed or inaccurate. Positional accuracy varies by source and scale. A map display that looks precise on screen does not prove survey-grade accuracy.
Always review metadata, capture date, source authority, coordinate reference system, scale/resolution, licence and known limitations.
3. Cadastral and property information
Parcel boundaries, SG references, property outlines and derived cadastral layers are informational unless obtained from and verified against the relevant authoritative source. GeoLayers is not a substitute for a professional land surveyor, deeds search or official cadastral record where legal boundary certainty is required.
4. Town planning and zoning
Planning schemes, zoning, overlays, development controls, parking calculations and feasibility tools may simplify or summarize complex municipal instruments. Municipal documents can change and local interpretation matters. Confirm current official scheme provisions and obtain professional or municipal advice before lodging an application or making a material property decision.
5. Environmental screening
Environmental, biodiversity, flood, wetlands, heritage or screening layers are not a substitute for a required specialist assessment, environmental authorization or statutory screening process. Absence of a mapped constraint does not prove absence of an environmental or heritage issue.
6. Earth observation and raster analysis
Satellite and aerial imagery may be affected by clouds, shadows, sensor calibration, acquisition date, spatial resolution and processing choices. Indices such as NDVI, NDWI and NDBI are analytical indicators and require contextual interpretation.
7. GeoML, statistics and predictive analytics
Regression, classification, clustering, suitability and predictive results depend on training data, feature selection, sampling, spatial autocorrelation, model assumptions and validation design. High evaluation scores on one dataset do not guarantee future or external performance.
8. Routing, accessibility and logistics
Routes, travel times, service areas, hub-spoke allocations, cost estimates and emissions estimates are model outputs. They can differ from actual conditions because of road closures, traffic, vehicle restrictions, access permissions, road quality, speed assumptions, one-way data or incomplete networks.
9. Digital twins and simulations
Capacity, failure, resilience, dependency and Monte Carlo simulations are scenarios, not predictions of guaranteed events. Use them to compare assumptions and stress-test systems, not as a sole basis for safety-critical operational decisions.
10. GeoAI
AI-generated output can be wrong, incomplete or overconfident. Verify important claims and calculations. See the Responsible GeoAI Notice.
11. Third-party data and services
GeoLayers links to and integrates external datasets, map tiles, imagery, APIs, libraries and websites. GeoLayers does not control their availability, accuracy, security or policies and is not responsible for changes made by those providers.
12. Public contributions and user content
User-generated maps, published datasets, comments or marketplace contributions do not necessarily reflect GeoLayers' views and may not have been independently verified.
13. Service availability
GeoLayers aims for reliable operation but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Internet, hosting, cloud-provider, browser, maintenance, third-party API and security events may affect availability.
14. Financial and commercial decisions
Cost models, property feasibility, rates/services estimators and similar tools are indicative unless an applicable product page expressly provides a stronger commitment. They are not financial, tax or investment advice.
