1. GeoLayers intellectual property
Except where a third-party licence states otherwise, GeoLayers retains all rights in its software, website design, original documentation, branding, logos, product names, original cartographic products, templates, graphics and other original material.
No ownership right is transferred merely because content is displayed, downloaded or accessed through a subscription.
2. Limited website use
You may view, print or save reasonable portions of public GeoLayers website content for personal, internal business, educational or evaluation purposes. You may not systematically reproduce the site, strip branding, create a confusingly similar service, or republish substantial original content commercially without permission.
3. User content
Users retain rights they hold in project content. The limited licence granted to GeoLayers to host and process user content is described in the Terms of Service. GeoLayers does not acquire ownership of a customer's source data merely because it is processed in the platform.
4. Third-party and open-source material
GeoLayers uses open-source software, external datasets, basemaps, APIs and other third-party material. Those items remain governed by their respective licences. Nothing in this policy overrides a third-party licence.
5. Trademarks and branding
"GeoLayers", the GeoLayers logo and associated distinctive branding may function as trademarks or source identifiers. Do not use GeoLayers branding in a way that suggests sponsorship, partnership, certification or endorsement without permission.
Fair descriptive references to GeoLayers are permitted where they are accurate and not misleading.
6. Marketplace products
Marketplace items are licensed under the Marketplace Terms, Data Licensing and product-specific terms. Payment does not transfer copyright unless expressly stated.
7. Permissions
For permission to reproduce GeoLayers brand assets, screenshots, documentation, original maps or substantial website content beyond ordinary fair or licensed use, contact info@geolayers.co.za with the proposed use and distribution context.
8. Copyright or rights complaints
If you believe material made available through GeoLayers infringes your rights, send a notice to info@geolayers.co.za identifying:
- the work or right claimed;
- the allegedly infringing material and its URL/project/publication location;
- your contact information;
- the basis on which you own or are authorized to act for the right holder; and
- a statement that the information supplied is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
GeoLayers may remove or restrict access to disputed content while investigating and may request additional information. A user who believes content was removed in error may contact GeoLayers with supporting rights information.
9. No removal of notices
Do not remove copyright, attribution, licence, watermark or source notices from GeoLayers or third-party content where those notices are required to remain.
